07 February, 2010Blog Moving!I have been using blogger as backend for years, now that they are going to stop FTP support. I don't want to host my blog offsite. Now that I am looking at 2 options: 1) get a PHP XML parser to render the blogger blog on my site; 2) rebuild my website with Joomla. My dear friends, if you subscribed to my blog with RSS, it will still work. Just that my old posts will come up again as unread for once. Object: Better security and risk reduction measure for my mobile devices Devices: Laptops, Mobile phone, USB hard disk, USB thumb drives, Camera Laptops and mobile phone To protect important data from leaking; to prevent unauthorised access; to locate and recover device if lost or stolen. - Configure software / OS / firmware to wake up every 3 hours (if its not already on), connect to internet and report IP address back to a server. - Enable password protection - Enable encryption - Enable remote wipe functionality USB hard disk To protect important data from leaking. -Enable encryption USB Thumb drives To protect important data from leaking; allow devices to be used everywhere. -No important or no valuable data to be stored on USB sticks. -Formatted as FAT32 -Install wiping software on laptop to wipe USB when needed. In the past few months, I put in extraordinary effort in my study mainly in computer forensics and arbitration, as well as working on a small scale CRM project. Event 2: I was checking email, and I got the newsletter from an institution I became member recently. There is a name list of new members published in it, almost all western names. My name certainly stands out in the list as it is so weird comparing with the others. I recon English speakers would have difficulties remembering and pronouncing my name. ... Event 3: City U account This embarrassed me from the first day I enrolled in JD. They assigned me an account xxchan58@student.cityu. I am lucky enough that my name former name didn’t start with a & i, or they will probably call me AI something. Action 1: Making a Deed Poll Here in Hong Kong, money can do everything. You pay some money to a lawyer, tell his clerk that you want a deed poll done in 15 mins and give them the detail.  I got to tell everyone! I had a very happy birthday this year! Thanks all my friends for everything! You know what? My birthday this year was nearly one of the most pathetic birthdays in my life, birthday clashed with assignment due (that’s so far the most difficult assignment in have seen).  I won't let myself to oversleep again. Some changes to make myself more disciplined. -Alarm clock system will connect to 5.1 hifi system, producing noise no less than 90 dB and increasing to 120dB progressively within 10 mins. -Sleep no later than 3:00am, instead of 5:00am. -Read law book if not sleeping at 2:30am. -Sleeping pills will be used in case of insomnia.  A man changes his toy every 3 years. Some hobbies may retain but not a favourite anymore. For my case... 1~3 Whatever mama gave… 4~6 Whatever other’s playing… I took it from them :p 7~9 Toys from the cartoon showing at that time. I admit liked sailormoon. 8~12 Engineered toys, like those 4x4 toy car with motor, toy guns… 13~15 Adult VCD, porn sites and many dirty stuffs… wahaha! I did pretend horny girl randomly chatted with people on ICQ. 16~18 Computer games… 19~21 Still addicted to computer games… 22~24 Cars! Madness off-road 4-wheel-drive! Speeding! Drifting! DIY Car Tuning! Smashing down poles! 25~27 What will this be? Now I am late 24 and I drive a so-call sport car slowly and safely nowadays. I have no more intention to do stupid stuffs like I did in just a few years back.
