Before I am going greet everyone happy new year, I have to rant!
I am so sick of Chinese New Year food! So grose!
This is the mandatory recipes for the period:
Abalone, sea cucumber, shark fin & fish maw (鮑參翅肚)
lotus root, black moss 蓮藕髮菜
steamed fish, pork belly 大魚大肉
CNY cake 年糕
turnip cake 蘿蔔糕
Chinese are super rich these days and we purposely waste food during CNY period (wtf!), this will bring us surplus food and wealth over the year (seriously?).
Let me show you one by one.
Abalone
The only reason you want to lick this must be because of it’s look. Exactly the same as Gillian Chung’s pussy. The price is more than a thousand each, and the nutrition value is close to AN EGG.
Sea cucumber
Looks like my dick, taste like my dick. Chinese people like my dick. Yeeha!
Shark fin
Err… What’s the point of eating this? The nutrition value is far less than an egg. Yet to mention the harmful preservatives added to preserve this thing.
Fish Maw
Basically some leftover body parts of a fish. Chinese believe they are very good for skin, making them very pricey. I prefer fish steak.
Lotus Root
Yuck!
Black Moss
Someone collected my bush hair an made them Chinese food, they think eating my bush hair will bring them wealth. JK. Black moss is actually one of the threatened and extinct species.
Steamed Fish
Chinese think that steaming is the best way to keep the freshness of a fish. They like to say “Uhh! Very fresh! Very fresh!” when eating it. Trust me, they all taste like mixture of soy sauce and MSG chicken stock.
CNY Cake
Chewing gum made of super sticky rice. You don’t swallow chewing gum, don’t you?
Turnip Cake
This cake absorb oil like a sponge.
Generally, I think CNY food are disgusting. Is it only me or do you think so?
