It is rather difficult to fully recover the image by software in these cases. But there are forensics software that can partly recover your image so that they may be good enough to serve as evidence in court. I recommend EnCase or AccessData FTK but they aren't cheap. P.S. In case if you want this image to be admissible in court, you should not alter anything on your harddisk before consulting a computer forensic professionals.
